An EAL6+ certified secure chip protects your private keys from unauthorised access. Backups are easy with the included microSD card, and the BIP-39 recovery words can be optionally displayed for backups to paper. The BitBox02 Nova runs with open-source firmware for full transparency. It supports both USB-C and (optional) Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) via Whisper, our own trust-minimized BLE architecture. Whisper ensures that all communications are end-to-end encrypted and authenticated, and runs on a separate chip without its own memory or access to secrets of the wallet. This ensures full control by the user without compromising safety. If not needed, Bluetooth can be disabled. Available in midnight black and polar white.
